The novel "Anne of Green Gables" has become a global bestseller since its first publication in 1908. The novel has sold more than 50 million copies and been translated into 36 languages. This work by Canadian Lucy Maud Montgomery has been adapted into films many times, including by PBS, The Disney Channel and Netflix, earning the love of both children and adults around the world. The novel is written for readers of all ages, but has received greater recognition in the field of children's literature. It tells the story of an orphaned girl, Anna Shirley. Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, a middle-aged brother and sister, decide to adopt a boy who would help them run their farm in the fictional village of Avonlea, but a mistake occurs and they are sent to live with the red-haired, intelligent and dreamy Anna Shirley. The novel features Anna's adventures in Green Gables, where the girl finally finds her home.
